This video shows you how to get free tethering on an iPhone 3G, or 3Gs without a jailbreak! People have been saying that this does not work for a regular iPhone 1st Gen, but you can test it yourself. GO TO THIS SITE ON YOUR IPHONE: help.benm.at Download the mobile config file. Go to settings and enable tethering and connect it to your computer using bluetooth or usb! You DO NOT have to have a jailbroken iPhone to do this. Comment if you have questions, and I will try to answer. This is much easier than other tutorials because there is no .ipcc file and updating. Used my iPhone 3G’s GPS to get me to Wildwood,NJ (100 miles). The combo of live GPS tracking and list-view turn-by-turn directions kept me from going off course.
My 1st Gen. iPhone provided 8 gigs worth of tunes for the trip as well as taking this photo of its successor.
That blue blip is me. I love how it tracks you.. and all you have to do is follow the purple designated streets and the GPS transponder lets you know if you’re on track. Match that up with the ‘list’ view of turn-by-turn directions and you’ll never get lost. Even when 3G dropped out (which it never completely did for too long) EDGE was capable enough to keep the map refreshed.
Used doubled-sided 3M tape that was very tacky and sturdy the whole voyage and peeled right off the back of the iPhone.

I popped in to the "How To Capture The Female iPhone Gamer" lecture at the Game Developer Conference today and saw a bunch of slides of cooking, wedding, and chocolate related iPhone games. I did not stick around long, so I can’t say if the gentleman giving the speech actually had some great insight into the minds of "female iPhone gamers", but I had a feeling he wasn’t describing any of the female gamers I know. Check out PlayFirst’s iPhone games for yourself and let me know what you think.

Just hooked a power inverter up to the cigarette lighter and mounted it behind the dash, plugged the iPhone dock into the power inverter using the included dock/power brick, and went line out on the dock to line in on the stereo. Instant iPhone integration!
Whole setup cost 0, not including the phone (it’d be 0 less if you already owned a headunit with line in). It charges the iPhone while playing music through the stereo (digitally), as well as rings through the stereo in the event of a call.

Better color in the iPhone shot. But it might have done too good a job with the white balance: ideally, it would have left in a little bit of the warmth of the lighting.
This is a scene where there’s probably no "right" answer to the exposure. The Nexus preserved the highlights in the far ceiling, at the cost of shadow detail. The iPhone did the opposite.
Personally, I think the iPhone shot is more pleasing but it’s a tough call.
